Just snapped a few pics from Christmas morning at our house and then a couple of pics from Kim's that night.  We had a great Christmas this year

Katie's surprise birthday present to see Newsie's.

So for her birthday, I surprised Katie with tickets to see the Broadway musical "Newsies" at the Saenger in New Orleans.  She had performed a number from it in dance several years ago, and I always wanted to take her to see it if it came here.  She was so surprised and excited.  She takes after her mama, and if she ever had the chance she would definitely be a Broadway star!

Visiting the gorgeous Roosevelt hotel before the show:

There's the star with her sign:

She did not want me to take this picture - too bad!:

Girl Scouts Daddy Daughter dance

The weekend before Christmas was Mark and Emma's annual "Best Guy" dance for Girl Scouts.  The theme was an "Under the Sea" theme so we picked a blue dress and actually made her a seashell hair comb, but I forgot to get a picture of it.  She was very proud of it.  They looked great!

Girls on The Run

Emma has participated in a new program at Northside called "Girls on the Run".  It is a kind of "girl power" motivational program that ends in a 5K.  They physically trained after school but also discussed positive attitudes and such toward things.  She loved it.  The 5K was a lot of fun, and Mark was her running buddy.  Here are some shots from the day:

Northside Veterans Day Program

This year for Northside's veterans day program, Emma was selected to (kind of) emcee the program.  Many students participated in the program, but she had some of the main parts.  Very proud of what she has accomplished and I think she has done a great job with all her responsibilities.  Here are a few pictures from the program.

Corn Maze with Girl Scouts

We had one of our first Girl Scout adventures today - the Corn Maze at the Rural Life museum in Baton Rouge.  Although it wasn't as big as the ones we had been to before, it was a beautiful Saturday morning, and we did get to pick some satsumas along the way!  Addie came along with us as usual:

Always the goofy picture:
