... As the sun sets on a decade...

Well, as most of you who check my blog know, I have reached somewhat of a milestone in one's life... the big 25! (okay, okay...29) But seriously, I have embraced reaching 40. I know, I don't look a day over 38, but it's true. As my family and I gazed upon this rainbow a few nights ago, I reflected upon the years passed and anticipate the years ahead....

Not really! I can't honestly keep up this sincere act. I'd just like to say that I feel very fortunate to have a great family, great friends and a bearable job (I mean, since the Minnie Mouse character as Disneyworld isn't open to those of us giants over 4'11). Things are pretty darn good at the Carroll house: Mark is home on the weekends during the summer (for about 3 more weeks until football starts), the girls only fight about every other hour and the dog only chews up things when you leave the house! A few more years of teaching in Louisiana public school and Mark and I can move to Orlando for our dream jobs - he can organize tournaments at Disneyworld's Wide world of sports and I can be the Fairy godmother in the Magic Kingdom b/c she is short and fat! Don't worry education community of Denham Springs, these are our post retirement plans!

... but I digress. Here are some photos from our Birthday meal at Acme Oyster House where Mark and I enjoyed the charbroiled oysters. Strangely enough, the girls did not want to taste them!

Geez mom, that is one big beer!

For those of you who have passed this momentous birthday and those of you who approach it - embrace it. What else can you do?!
