The weekend we were off before Easter, Mark and "his boys" as Emma calls them played a baseball game at Breaux Bridge high school. We decided to make a very brief weekend of it and stay one night in Breaux Bridge. I found a rustic little B & B on the bayou that had enough room for all four of us. Although we couldn't get a cabin on the bayou, we had a nice size one for the family.
Here is our little cabin:

Katie holding up the giant crawfish:
When we arrived that afternoon after the game we got an afternoon treat of cracklins (best I have ever had), boudin (also very good) and hog's head cheese. I actually like hog's head cheese, but this one wasn't my favorite. It also came with homemade root beer, which Emma loved, but Mark and I choose the other kind of beer!
Another shot of the restaurant area:
Emma enjoying the swings:
Katie and Emma went "discovering" around the area and found some animal tracks. Emma thought these were alligator tracks, and I told her maybe they might be raccoon ones instead:
Kitty cat tracks: We saw a lot of little kitties around the area.
Some of the cabins along the bayou. These actually have decks. We want to try one of these next time.
Emma and some more animal tracks:
Not the best picture, but once again, just to prove I went!

Giant crawfish once again:
Emma and the giant crawfish. The plan was to hang Emma from one of the claws, but then we all chickened out, and we might want to go back one day!
